Alison Clark / Producer & Executive Producer
Alison Clark, co-founder and partner of In A Box Productions, has lived in Beijing since 2009, where she is General Manager and Producer at CIB Productions, the Chinese sister company of In A Box Productions.
She has over 20 years of experience in international television distribution, including 12 years with Sony Pictures International Television in London, and has provided consulting services to media companies including ITV and On Demand Group.
Alison served as Executive Producer on the 2008 documentary My Beijing Birthday and was Producer, alongside director Jesse Burke, on Beyond The Wall, as well as being credited as Executive Producer and Writer.
Duncan Clark / Executive Producer
Founding partner of In A Box Productions and its Chinese sister companies, China In A Box and CIB Productions, Duncan has been based in China since 1994. Duncan has served as Executive Producer for two documentary films - My Beijing Birthday (2008) and Beyond The Wall (2013) – produced by In A Box Productions and its affiliate China In A Box.
A former technology investment banker with Morgan Stanley, Duncan has run the advisory firm BDA China which he founded in Beijing since 1994. A graduate of the LSE and former Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, Duncan was recently named Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Duncan is the brother of Alison Clark, the film’s producer.
Philip Qu / Executive Producer
Philip Qu is a founding partner of In A Box Productions and its Chinese sister companies, China In A Box and CIB Productions.
Philip was an Executive Producer for both My Beijing Birthday and Beyond The Wall, the two documentaries produced in China by In A Box Productions and it’s Chinese affiliates.
A founding partner of leading Chinese law firm TransAsia Lawyers, Philip is recognized as one of China’s top lawyers for his work in the TMT (Technology, Media & Telecoms) sector.
Simon Lee / Editor & Associate Producer
Simon Lee has been working in film & TV production and post production for 15 years in London, Beijing and Hong Kong.
Simon graduated from London Guildhall University where he specialised in film production and film craft. He went on to become a seasoned editor of independent and broadcast documentaries, working with ZDF, Channel 4, ITN, Discovery and CNN International. His credits include Lost in the Muqam and China’s Grenzen which won Best Documentary at the German Bayerischer Fernsehpreis Awards.
